"To live greatly, we must develop the capacity to face trouble with courage, disappointment with cheerfulness, and triumph with humility. You ask, "How might we achieve these goals?" I answer, "By gaining a true perspective of who we really are!" We are sons and daughters of a living God, in whose image we have been created. Think of that: created in the image of God. We cannot sincerely hold this conviction without experiencing a profound new sense of strength and power."
President Thomas S. Monson
I love this quote by President Monson. When I grasp, even just a little, the fact that I am a literal daughter of God, it changes everything that I think and do. The knowledge of who I really am fills me with hope and happiness so great that there is no room for anything else. If I could only remember 100% of the time! Thank goodness for the Savior to catch me when I fall.
Today as I was folding this.....
I was so happy! I was folding my husband's socks and shirts and with each one, I was filled with an overwhelming love for him. I think the reason it made me so happy is because folding laundry is part of fulfilling my role as a nurturer. Julie Beck said, "To nurture means to cultivate, care for, and make grow....Another word for nurturing is homemaking. Homemaking includes cooking, washing clothes and dishes, and keeping an orderly home." Women are nurturers and it makes us happy when we do it! What made you happy that you are a woman today?

I have not been a very good homemaker lately. Neglecting it for some reading. Oops.
I don't think anything makes me happier more than listening to a child laugh. Zach is pretty ticklish, so I do everything I can to make him laugh and it just makes my heart melt. Love that little guy.
Love these quotes. It's so important to truly understand our role as women. It's not just cleaning and doing the laundry - it IS nurturing. It IS homemaking. Keeping an orderly house really makes everyone feel more at peace. It's a big deal. I love being able to stay home and do just that.
